Story in sonnets part three

Photo by William J Spirdione

I’m falling thru the deep and moonlit night.
A disembodied spirit seems to speak.
A grand metallic canyon fills my sight.
Of light and movement, city at its peak.

I’m part of something, I can’t ascertain.
Alive or dead, I’ve been here for some time.
The city-state is ruled by machine brains;
And thinking for oneself is a thought crime.

I reach for neuroprosthetic device.
I want to download data to be read.
So many thoughts and nothing will suffice,
my neuro link, my wife, and children dead.

Robotic exoskeleton won’t work.
There’s only one way out, a little quirk.

To be continued…
