Story in sonnets part twelve

“I smell smoke.” said the girl as she jumps up.
The little man jambs his knuckles; “it aches,”
With one of many tools in his small cup.
“Nothing bad; we’ll know if and when He wakes.”

“If Machine Brain knows all, why are we poor,”
The two said, “only humanity cares.”
“We will save ourselves. Brain is no savior.”
Those who programmed Him had lied and set snares.

“I’m stronger than you think,” the girl exclaimed.
The heavy steel doors of the cavern locked.
As she lifted the cover of the Brain,
The small man said, “some gills I must concoct.”

“We have to swim to where the fly flew in.”
“Go Down the drain, or be trapped live herein.”
