Story in sonnets part eight

Pretending she was sick, the girl turned back.
One more question for this sickly creature,
As she ran back to her father’s small shack,
Could this diminutive other be her?

As she snuck into the greenhouse with pond,
Nervous little aquatic five-eyed man,
Climbed on up to the deck, stood up, and yawned.
“You really should check your attention span.”

”How did you know it was my day of birth?”
The girl thought at the same time that he did.
The man relieved, “I’m back home on this earth,”
“No more swimming my way through the fuel grid.”

How did we both get here at the same time?
“It’s my birthday too.” ”Eat before we climb.”

To be continued…
