New peony shoots pushing through last year’s leaves

They push aside last year’s leftover stuff.
These delicate shoots glow with love’s first blush.
From nothing they appear, now quite enough.
Amazing how they grow in such a rush.

So quickly that I’ll miss if I don’t look.
Be careful now. Wrong steps could lead to strife…
