Thanks for reading my poem and leaving a thoughtful response. The leaves do fall onto the ground upon which we stand. I do admit a love for the word and find nothing impersonal about it. Neither us humans nor any of our companions on this blue planet would survive without the living soil under our feet. Terra and Gaia have their rightful place in the language. I know earth is not named for a greek or roman god but us backwater types appreciate it and the name with all our hearts. Thanks again for the lively argument!
