Spiral

A sonnet

Is this spiraling up, spiraling down,
Or only spiraling out of control?
Anyone in control? Bossing around,
Who or what? Should that even be a goal?

Spiral staircase leading to apathy,
Cornucopia, the horn of plenty,
On the arms of a spiral galaxy,
Barred, globular clusters, life if any.

Prices spiraling up, evil campaigns,
Spiral cut ham, on a Christmas table,
Wages spiraling down, and hurricanes,
Spiraling thoughts, arguing if able.

Meandering streams, spiral vortex, math,
Circumambulating a well-worn path.
