Sensitive
A sonnet
Walking into a dingy, convenient
Store bathroom after securing the key.
On ancient rectangle of wood, lenient
With the cleaning, it’s plain for all to see.
Find the weirdly placed light switch with no plate.
A dirty forty watt exposed bulb lamp,
Water damaged ceiling , not up to date.
Looking down before hands are even damp.
A large centipede was slowly walking,
Across the cracked porcelain of the sink.
The most sensitive and beautiful thing
In the room. Feelers reaching, can it think?
No washing down drain or being set free.
Shut off light. Close the door, Return the key.
