Rock Pile

Garden almost fall

The low sun
Sparkling
Quartz crystals
On granite
Leaves filling cracks
Newly sprouted
Stubs, of woodchucks
Last meal
Or cottontails
Or gray or red squirrels
Cheerful chipmunks
Mice, voles, moles
Grey stones
Sun dappled greys
Many shades
Moss, lichens
New ferns
Brutality of nature
The garden lives
