Oh how they care, love the poem, Lo.

…m vowel to vowel
learning the rules and calming the parts of us that cry out
“THIS IS NOT WHO I AM”
and they do care, oh how they care
when we can no longer pretend 
swinging from stanza to stanza
surveying the land for someone who looks just like us
they push us down, with words and fists, rest…
A love of words will save the world
(and save us too)
