The calendar shows spring’s not here quite yet.
These growing things don’t seem to care a bit.
Growth pushing up through mud is comfort met.
Spring snuck up on me. That, I must admit.

Rosettes of green toss tiny rocks and twigs
amidst the moss and decomposing leaves.
Bulb growing…
