It is not a subject I often write about. I first started writing the sonnet as 'Rain falls with solitude" but decided the poem worked better substituting pain. I had been reading about the pain a few of my friends were suffering, and remembering my own past pain, i internalized it and then the sonnet almost wrote itself.
