In Only Days

A Sonnet

In only days we will know who has won.
Tomorrow Americans will decide.
Or finish deciding, votings begun.
Does love win over this hateful divide?

E pluribus unum, dehumanized?
Self evident, we’re done with oppression.
Out of many one, not disenfranchised,
We hold these truths, not voter suppression.

Stop! Ninety million already voted.
Theocratic, racist, kleptocracy.
Long lines, so our votes are duly noted.
End the failed state, reclaim democracy.

I hope to be right, but I could be wrong,
In days we’re singing a victory song.
