Hope for the Asking
A sonnet
Sometimes I feel I may have too much hope,
Enough to give some hope for the asking.
Might not be a thing that’s seen in a scope,
Can’t find by meditating or fasting.
Maybe It’s a personality type,
One either has the hope or one does not.
I still hope it can live up to the hype,
Somehow hope seems to help more than it ought.
Hope never stopped me from going on out,
And tackling all the problems of the day.
Choose hope over despair, still have some doubt,
Be realistic, but then get underway.
Hope keeps looking towards a better day,
There is no guarantee, but it may.
Thank you, Dr. Preeti Singh, for asking me to write a sonnet on the prompt ‘hope’. If any of my fellow friend writers want to show what they think of ‘Hope’, write away.
