First Nor’Easter

--

A sonnet and haiku

The wind, the snow, the unearthly quiet,
Except for the occasional snow plow.
It’s blade’s unearthly howl sounds defiant,
The first nor’easter the climate allows.

Rain turns to white flakes covering green grass.
Wind chimes chiming, tree arms twirling beauty,
Pine tree arms, tightly to their sides, amass,
The cold dancing wind’s crystalline beauty.

The storm’s fury buries late autumn’s rot,
With water’s finest form for ornament.
Light’s go out, candles lit, ready or not,
Enjoy show, nothing seen is permanent.

Wind whipping white wrapping
house in cocoon.
Wood fires warmth welcomes home this afternoon.

Second day wake up
No power house cold shovel
A little less fun

Powers back on, better catch up on this Medium thing
