it’s vital the city keeps moving
no one wants life returning
to the 1980s
when one grain of broken rice fed a family
for days
when a severed arm couldn't save 
the grain passing though the horror train 
of a hundred howling hands 
pouncing to clutch it for a second
determined to make it stay
