A Cold Autumn Night

A sonnet

Cold, wet weather is hard enough to take.
The cold can sap our strength to carry on.
The sun's warmth won’t return until daybreak.
Earth mothers indecision is a con.

We all need to toughen up, Nature screams.
Natures the last thing to worry about.
Humans make problems, have plenty of schemes,
Make a lot of noise, stomp and shriek and shout.

There is still so much more to do but now,
The Earth has other plans for you and me.
The Autumn’s wind is telling you somehow,
That human pride is weak, and I agree.

Walking faster into the cold wet wind,
Humans must prepare. Mother Nature grinned.
