Not even if I’m lying to myself.
I sit up straight these thoughts appear all mine.
Remember, put them back up on that shelf.

See, I’m not picking up the truth today.
I couldn’t find most anything at all.

This fluff will carry seeds across the year
to float down for these gardens here next spring.
This mellow light won’t stand for long, I fear.
I stare and look till I don’t see a thing.

The aster’s gone to seed for next year’s crop.
Soon wind will blow those puffs…

November’s days are slipping fast away
