Hammering metal
“It won’t move”
Mark yells
Checking dampers
On old duct
In musty cellar
Of older church
Large granite blocks
Dusty filament bulbs
Deep in earth’s embrace
No radio signal
Didn’t here it
When
The towers were hit
Cell phone rings
I yell “quiet!”
My wife speaks
“The World Trade Center came down”
“Came down?”
“What do you mean came down?”
“A plane flew into it”
We go above ground
Listen to trucks radio
The world changed
Did it?
